Hotell Poll – What one do you like best –
- Holday Inn/Holiday Inn Express
- Fairfield Inn, Courtayrd, and other small hotels by Marriott
- Hampton Inn
- Best Westerns
or if you like more than one, sequence in order from best to worst.
This is my ratings –
1. Marriot Ones
2. Hamptons
3. Holiday Inn/Express
Never Stayed at a Best Western but that will prolly come before a holiday inn.
Hampton Inns!
They have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy, and you will get your money refunded if you are not happy with your stay. The beds have a specialized pillowtop mattress by Serta made especially for the hotel chain. The staff are generally held to high standards, and the chain really encourages good customer service. They are upgrading all the hotels to flat-screen televisions now, and they have fresh-baked cookies available to guests in the evenings.
Of course, working part-time at one.. I’m a bit biased
Ignoring my position, I still avoid staying at any other hotels now when I go out of town. Marriott hotels come in close second though! I love the fact that they are all non-smoking.
There will always be poor/good examples of each hotel brand though. It’s best to get online and do a little research before making a reservation anywhere (rates, reviews, age of hotel, acommodations, etc).

This is the America’s Best Inn at Sandusky, Ohio. There were multiple things wrong with this place and I did not catch them all on video due to a low battery in my camera. The non-smoking room smelt like a tobacco factory and there were no clean wash clothes or towels. There were all types of bacteria on the shower curtain and in the room period. The sheets and pillows were full of stains and dirt and not to mention the used toilet paper roll in the bath room. It looks as though the front lobby and restaurant received all of the cleaning attention because you can clearly notice the difference between where you sleep and what you see when you walk in. Do not be fooled by the four-star rating that this place received on several travel sites because you will be bamboozled! Do yourself a favor and do not stay here when doing your hotel searches…

My in-laws offered to take our toddler for 1 night for our anniversary. What’s the best place within 2 hrs driving distance of mid-peninsula to spend the day lounging in bed/tub and enjoy breakfast (in bed, if possible!)?
I should have mentioned that we really need to do this *under* $400, although the many wonderful B&Bs already suggested certainly look worth the price…
Hotel Vitale on the Embarcadero in SF. Reserve one of the Panoramic suites. Each has a king bed, sofa and a huge two person tub right in the room [separate bath has a shower]. They have a spa in house so you and hubby can have massage or take a soak in the two outdoor infinity tubs. The hotel restaurant Americano can provide you with breakfast in bed and there are several excellent restaurants near by for dinner including One Market, Tadich Grill, and the Slanted Door.

Happy anniversary.
i am planning to stay here and i am wondering from personal experiences how was it?
Does it have a pool? What are the bathrooms like?
I am staying in a 2 double bed room with a friend.
"Hi"…Well I am hesitant to tell you this but while it’s not a bad hotel albeit an older one it is just not in a handy location and in a semi industrial zone with no amenities close at all ! It’s a good hotel for an "in and out" thingy but not to vacation a few days.
Matter of fact it’s right across the road from a Costco………..seriously !
It’s on a rather busy road a few minutes from Vancouver International Airport ! That may be handy if you are flying in and flying out in one day but not very handy at all if you want to see downtown Vancouver as the cab fare will be 25 to 30 bucks ! It’s also very close , almost under the Oak St. Bridge !
Here’s the location……

Some pics…….

And the hotel….the lobby is dreadful actually…..sorry ! *S*
http://www.abercorn-inn.com/
That whole area there as you approach the airport is under construction with the Sky Train…the rapid transit being constructed so it’s pretty busy with construction of the elevated tracking.
If you want some good advice from someone that lives in Vancouver, you’d be better off staying downtown….you’ll see that the address of the Abercorn is actually in Richmond !
The nice thing about is however is that it is close to the River Rock Casino ! *S*
Hope that helps ya but again if you want to see Vancouver go to a downtown Vancouver hotel not an Airport one ! *S* (Michael C…)
